Position: Second Engineer
Vessel: 68m Private Motor Yacht
Start Date: Immediate! (this was originally advertised as a 1st Dec start date but has since changed)
Salary: €6,000 per month
Leave: 120 days per year (approx. 2:1 rotation)
Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on and mechanically minded Second Engineer to join a well-run 68m private motor yacht. You will work within a close-knit engineering team of 5, alongside an ETO, supporting the Chief Engineer in maintaining the vessel’s high standards of operation and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Chief Engineer with planned and preventative maintenance of all machinery and systems.

Troubleshoot engineering issues efficiently and effectively.

Oversee, guide and assist the Third Engineer as required.

Ensure smooth daily operations of all engineering systems, including propulsion, electrical, and auxiliary systems.

Maintain engineering logs, inventory, and safety compliance in line with yacht standards.

Work collaboratively with the engineering team and wider yacht crew to maintain a safe and professional onboard environment.
Requirements:

Minimum Y3 / SV Second Engineer 9000 kW or equivalent certification.

Valid ENG1 medical certificate.

STCW95/10 certificates and discharge book.

Proven experience on vessels of similar size.

Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Valid B1/B2 visa.
