Deck/Engineer - 50m

Location: Europe
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a motivated and capable Deck Engineer to join a fantastic 50m superyacht. As a vessel known to us for years, we have an excellent understanding of the programme, onboard leadership, crew culture, and day-to-day operations. We are therefore able to offer candidates honest and detailed insight into the role, team dynamics, and expectations onboard, helping ensure a successful long-term match for both the yacht and crew member.

This position is primarily focused on deck operations, requiring a strong all-round deckhand skillset, while also providing support to the engineering department when required.

We are looking for a practical, hands-on individual with proven experience in deck operations and the ability to contribute effectively across both deck and engineering functions.

Key Responsibilities

Deck Operations (Primary Focus)

  • Carry out all aspects of deck maintenance and upkeep.
  • Support vessel operations, guest activities, docking, anchoring, and tender operations.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout exterior areas.
  • Participate in bridge and navigational watches as required.
  • Assist with safety drills and onboard safety management procedures.

Engineering Support (Secondary Focus)

  • Provide assistance to the Chief Engineer as required.
  • Support routine maintenance and repairs of machinery and onboard systems.
  • Assist with engineering watches and troubleshooting when necessary.

Essential Requirements

  • STCW Basic Safety Training
  • ENG1 Medical Certificate
  • AEC 2
  • Navigation Watch Rating (STCW II/4) and/or recognised Yacht Rating certificate(s)
  • Strong hands-on deck experience with proven operational capability
  • Ability and willingness to support engineering operations

Desirable Qualifications

  • Designated Security Duties (PDSD)
  • Previous experience onboard large yachts or commercial vessels
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and team-oriented approach

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a confident deck operator first and foremost, with solid engineering knowledge that enables them to support the engineering department when required. They will be proactive, adaptable, safety-conscious, and capable of working effectively within a professional yacht crew environment.

If you meet the above criteria and are looking to join a high-performing team, we very much welcome your application!

We regret we will only be able to respond to candiates who are shortlisted for interview and thank all applicants for their interest.
