We are looking for an organised, proactive, and tech-savvy Household Manager to support the smooth day-to-day operation of an informal dynamic household. This position is ideal for a self-starter who will thrive in a role that combines hands-on household management, administrative coordination and a busy family schedule. Previous experience in private staffing is preferred but not absolutely necessary if you possess relevant transferable skills and experience that can be clearly demonstrated.

Hours:
Between 45-50 hours per week with some flexibility.
Term time:
Monday to Thursday 07.15 to 19.00, Friday finish approx. 17.30
School holidays:
Monday to Thursday 08.00 to 19.00, Friday finish approx. 17.30
Daily 2 hour break (during term time).
*The family are abroad approx. 7 weeks of the year during school holidays.
*1 overnight proxy parent per week and 2 full weekend proxy parenting per year (agreed in advance).

DUTIES
Administration:
Family diary – maintaining a complete schedule for both the children and parent to coordinate social events, sports fixtures, music practice and parent’s evenings etc.
Family international travel arrangements
Assisting with any school App ‘traffic’ and comms
Help with principal’s consultancy business administration
Management of household accounts/expenditure with full accounting records and receipts
Record keeping of manuals and guarantees

Children: (ages 13 and 14)
Working collaboratively with the principals - promote good behaviour from the children by using the positive reinforcement approach. Being an active and engaging presence in children’s lives, providing support and encouragement e.g. prompting completion of homework
Proxy parenting/having sole charge of the children upon request
Driving the children to extracurricular activities
School drop off/collection when required (flexi board at college within the county)

Cooking:
Meal plan, preparation and cooking of 2 to 3 family evening meals per week as required
Stock taking and weekly grocery shopping
Clear up/tidy after meals, load and unload dishwasher

Staff management:
Cleaner (twice weekly) and handyman (once a week) + liaising with contractors
Payroll/payment

In conjunction with the cleaner:
Personally perform light duties such as tidying
Overseeing the cleanliness of the property, ensuring all rooms are cleaned, dusted and vacuumed, furniture is polished, floors are waxed/cleaned/polished as required
Managing periodic deep cleans of the bathrooms and kitchen ‘white goods’ + ovens
Scheduling window cleans internal/external
Ensuring appropriate products are used for the appropriate surfaces

General household/property:
Management of household maintenance/repairs, interior and exterior, including servicing, electrical, gas, plumbing, water, under floor heating, telecoms, security, internet and other facilities - delegating necessary to qualified contractors and or staff
Seeking appropriate comparison quotations for works, service or products
Maintenance of interior appliances throughout the property
Being responsible for all interior fabrics, surfaces, fixtures and fabric care
Cleaning out vases and place fresh water for fresh flowers/arrange flowers and water indoor plants as necessary

Vehicles/Transport:
Chauffeuring as required
Managing the employer vehicles – scheduling of maintenance (services/MOTs) and cleaning/valet

Other:
Running errands and following personal requests and reasonable instructions from the family
Looking after the two (small) family dogs, walking and pet-sitting
Dealing with any seasonal changes to the interior of the property (changing clocks/timers, heating/cooling etc)

Laundry:
Doing the family household laundry (wash, iron, fold) and replace clothing into cupboards
Organising dry cleaning and ensuring valuable items are always maintained, cleaned and kept in good order
Help with packing (travel)
