Join a fantastic crew on a 70m+ private superyacht.
We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Second Officer to join a world-cruising private vessel with an international crew of 20 (deck team of 5). This is a rare opportunity to work under strong, supportive leadership with good crew longevity.
Start date - 1st October 2025
- The vessel has been Med-based over the past few seasons with no charter.
- Maintained to a high standard.
- A close-knit crew culture.
- The vessel will be based in Barcelona for a few months before travelling to the Caribbean for the winter.
About the role:
As Second Officer, you'll play a vital role in the vessel’s navigational operations, assisting the Chief Officer and Captain with:
- Passage planning and bridge watchkeeping
- Maintaining navigational equipment and publications
- Deck operations and maintenance schedules
- Assisting with safety drills and ISM/ISPS procedures
- This role requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
What we're looking for:
- OOW 3000GT or higher
- Experience on vessels 60m+, ideally private
- Familiar with ISM, ISPS
- Strong in operations, Tender driving, Jet & Twin Screw
- Planned Maintenance - proven experience in shipyard periods, ability to lead and run maintenance projects.
- Valid COC, STCW, ENG1, and GMDSS, B1B2, Schengen
- ECDIS (Transas) certificate
- Non-smoker, well presented, with no or discreet tattoos
Package:
- Salary: DOE
- Leave: 60 days annually (currently taken outside guest periods)
- Flights: 2 return flights per year to repatriation destination
- Bonus: Annual performance-based bonus + inflation-based salary review
